Bio

I am a gay 36 year old millennial (he/him/they). I am a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Jose Miguel live in Syracuse, NY with my husband and two lovingly spoiled goldendoodles, Hastings and Eastwood.


Jose Miguel has spent the last ten years of my career coaching students and alumni from all different backgrounds in their life and career at a variety of colleges and universities. He's always had a passion for life coaching and blending the career coaching into the work.

In 2019, he became a Certified Life Purpose Coach to pursue life coaching as my side hustle from my full-time role. 

​

It has been a desire of his for quite some time to pivot into creating my own coaching practice to serve people beyond the traditional college age student. he has always had a strong connection to helping people discover their passion and purpose in life and now he feels like he is living his best life helping people on their journey to explore, focus and transform their lives. 

He created Coaching with Jose Miguel to help millennials discover their God given talents and purpose in life while helping them lead successful careers and create thriving business.

The foundational pillars of Coaching with Jose Miguel are rooted in Exploration, Focus, and Transformation. Everyone starts in a different place in their life no matter what chapter they're on in their journey. He's here to help you write the next chapter.

Professional Background

Originally from Queens, NY, José Miguel earned an Associates of Applied Science in Business Administration from Utica School of Commerce, a Bachelors of Science in Spanish from SUNY Oneonta and a Masters of Art in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University.

With a strong passion for education, José Miguel started his coaching journey in higher education in 2009 serving as teaching assistant and course facilitator for a Survey of Career Fields course. He went on to work at many institutions both private and public. He's held roles as employer relations coordinator, internship consultant, talent acquisitions manager and most recently serves as the Director of Career Services for SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Jose Miguel is strategic leader with over ten years of experience in human services, talent management, employee and employer relations, human resources, career development, coaching and counseling.

​

He's implemented policies and best practices during periods of challenging organizational restructuring, while continuously improving processes and achieving the business goals of the organization’s evolving strategic plan.
